Just wanted to pass this along: TV Squad is looking for fans to submit questions for an upcoming episode of 'Outside the Box' with the men of 'Dexter' --- Michael C. Hall (the killer, Dexter Morgan, himself); Desmond Harrington (Joey Quinn); C.S. Lee (Vince Masuka); and James Remar (Harry Morgan). If you've never seen an Outside the Box before, they are when stars from a tv show interview one another with questions from fans -- really great interviews. FINALLY - showtime have released an official Dexter season 5 promo And season 5 trailer video! In our resent poll, most of you thought this series was going to be a cracker. Let's hope that these clips don't disappoint! I actually haven't seen either of them myself yet, it's just not the same to watch these things if they aren't embedded into Dexter-TV!

I wasn't going to update this once I'd seen the videos, and I still felt much the same after the promo, but the trailer - fudge me! While I always hoped that season 5 would live up to expectations, I was slightly worried that it wouldn't. They've already introduced a fair few "bad guys" (ice truck, trinity) and a couple of "good guys" (doakes, lundy), and if they had gone for a setup too similar to that, I think we may have been in for disappointment. Luckily, it doesn't look as if though they have - with the exception of Quinn, but I guess his character is needed - and I reckon we're in for one hell of a season. I mean Dexter saying he did it, he killed rita, what's that all about? I could understand if he'd said that it was his fault, but admitting to actually commiting the murder? Definitely a good season on the horizon, I'm excited!
Dexter-TV has once again got some exclusive season 5 news to share with you, and again we'd like to thank Joel Nelson of Lakewood CA for supplying us with footage and info straight from Dexter's home!
First, though, OTCR sent me an email to let all of you guys know that they've got a video interview with Cody and Trinity on their site, which you can watch here. Also, there's some news as to the cast of season 5, which you can read here.
Now, on to the promised news straight from set of Dexter season 5 - and once again let me remind you that the below text could act as SPOILER. Joel Nelson reports straight from the set:
They filmed Astor and Cody emerging from the little apartment bldg walking to that parking area to the left of the Petr Club getting in the van with Ritas parents and driving away, very sad little moment when Cody hugs Dexter goodbye, Astor gives him a half hearted hug and Dexter watches then drive away( in the Dexter way). The Petr Club interior was shot as a school interior presumably for the kids. These are scenes shot for season 5 episode 2
Perhaps not too surprising, really, and I guess there is no saying just how long they will be stayin 'round their grandparent's place, but at least we know for sure that Dexter ought to have time for a murder or two while they're away - so far as I'm concerned, that's good news!
And this time it isn't even a rickroll! One of your visitors, Joel Nelson of Lakewood CA, got in touch to let us know that he had been fortunate enough to watch Dexter season 5, episode 1 being filmed! In this post I shall share with you his messages, photos and even a video that he shot on sight! This is currently a Dexter-TV exclusive, so let your friends know! If you feel the need to drop a comment, feel free to do so!
First up, some pictoral evidence! Below is a selection of some of the photos sent to Dexter-TV by Joel Nelson, and below our small gallery is a link to his own picasa selection. The quality may not be outstanding, but there is no doubt as to the truth behind his claims.
More interesting, perhaps, as it provides more detail, is the commentry which Joel provided us with from the scene. I've decided to paste it in straight into this post as I don't think there are any real spoilers. In chronoligical order of my receiving his e-mails, here are a few quotes from Joel:

"I just watched them film the opening scenes to season 5, Dexter is on his knees in the front yard holding Harrison first out in front of him then pulling him close as 2 Miami Metro squad cars pull up in front , 2 officers emerge from each car, two officers rush past Dexter into the house while the other starts asking Dexter whats happened, couldnt read Dexters lips, sorry. Cool to first watch 2 rehearsals of this scene using stand ins (and a baby doll for Harrison) then Michael C Hall arrived and they shot the actual scene with the new Harrison. Looks like they will shooting all night and there is a large "FBI Evidence Collection" truck ready for further scenes. Lots of Dexter fans mixed with neighbors watching the process."

"Just got back from 1st Congregational Church at 3rd and Cedar in Long Beach where Ritas Funeral is being shot at this very moment. and YES I DO HAVE PICTURES! However the pics are all pretty blah since the scenes are being shot indoors. They are also returning to Rita and Dexters house tonight for more shooting and I will be there
there are now 4 Miami Metro cars outside the house for tonights shoot, have been parked there all day" NOTE: the pictures mentioned are the 4 first pictures in the above gallery

"ok so just about 20 minutes ago they filmed Ritas body being removed from their house. Dexter stands in the middle of the yard with blood on his hands while Vince, Quinn, Angel and Laguerta watch from a few feet behind him. FBI evidence van parked right in front of the house, Dexter watches as coroners remove Ritas body, police and FBI agents mill about must have been 40 people in one scene, not including people behind police tape. An FBI agent then comes and escorts Dexter into the back of the FBI truck "CUT !" They then filmed another similar scene where Harry is walking with the coroners and turns to look up at Dexter. So everyone was there except Deb and Harrison so I assume Deb took off with Harrison earlier. They will be filming until tomorrow morning."

With the insane popularity of previous seasons, and season 4 in particular, will the team behind Dexter be able to live up to the ridiculously high expectations they have set for season 5? With a tv.com rating of 9.1 (out of 10) overall and a staggering 9.7 for the season finale, Dexter is one of the highest rated shows around at the moment. Personally, I think they can pull it of as they have a couple of the most talented writers around at the moment along with a solid crew and actors. But more importatly, what do you think?

With another couple of months to go until the next season of Dexter hits the airwaves, some of you are probably gagging for something new to watch. Granted, it will never be as good, but at least it will help pass the time. Well that's where this wee post comes in, I've found 2 shows that you may be interested in.
